This past February 21, 2025, at the Kowloon House Dining Hall, Matalino St., PRM witnessed an important event in the career of PolyEast Records artist, SUYEN, as she celebrated the launch of her first-ever EP. In attendance at the sold out venue were her die-hard loyal fans, artist friends, and the PolyEast Records team.

With her first official release dating back to 2023, SUYEN has become known for her pop-punk sound full of powerful energy, catchy melodies, and raw emotion that capture the hearts and minds of her listeners. Over the past 2 years she’s gained notoriety in the local scene for songs such as “Tampo”, “Bente”, and “Sonic Tonic”, and she hopes to continue her momentum with the first release of her new EP, “Suyen Imnida”, which offers a new glimpse of her as a person and her growth as an artist.
But before getting to perform songs from her EP for the very first time, SUYEN’s special guest artists wowed attendees and set the fun tone for the evening. First to perform was aunt robert, whose unique rock ‘n pop stylings had everyone jumping and on their feet. She was then followed up by ena mori, who had the crowd moving from side to side with her experimental 80s and 90s Dream pop-inspired music. Fellow PolyEast Records artist, ila, accompanied by boyfriend and labelmate, natun, then took the stage to transport everyone in attendance to another world using their folk-inspired and ethereal sounding soundscapes that served as a heavenly calm before SUYEN’s high-energy pop-punk storm.

After ila’s set, SUYEN took the stage in all her pop-punk glory to give everyone a show worth talking about. She started off with a bang performing the titular track of her EP, “Suyen Imnida”, which had the crowd immediately singing and jumping around. After that, SUYEN went into her latest single, “Teka Lang”, which continued the set’s jump-inducing momentum. The third song of her set was her first-ever release on Spotify, “Sonic Tonic”, followed by her most streamed song, the ever-catchy “Tampo”. She then performed 3 new songs off her EP that the crowd ate up, being “Isang Linggong Maghihintay”, “Something ‘bout u”, and “Hey You”. SUYEN ended her set proper with her ever-relatable coming-of-age anthem, “Bente”, which induced moshpits galore and had everyone singing the song’s iconic “hala hala” lyrics. Though her set was supposed to finish there, fans requested an encore, and being the performer she is, SUYEN gave them what they wanted and treated them to an acoustic version of “Tampo”. In the end, the successful EP launch gig not only served as a testament to SUYEN’s hard work, but also showed the sky’s the limit for the pop-punk princess.
