PRM Holds Successful 2026 Annual General Meeting, Highlights Growth and New Direction Under General Manager Ace Acosta

Philippines Recorded Music Rights Inc. (PRM™) successfully held its 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 30 June 2026 at B Hotel, Quezon City, bringing together its Board of Trustees, record label members, industry partners, and government representatives to reflect on the organization's achievements in the past and current year, and discuss its strategic direction for the next quarter and the upcoming years.

The meeting marked an important milestone for PRM as newly appointed General Manager Ace Acosta led his first Annual General Meeting in the role. During the presentation, he shared key updates on the organization's operational and financial performance, highlighting PRM's continued growth and the significant progress made in strengthening collective rights management across the Philippines.

Members and partners were presented with updates on licensing initiatives, royalty collections and distributions, stakeholder engagement, strategic partnerships, and organizational developments that continue to reinforce PRM's mission of protecting the rights of record label producers and performers’ sound recordings. PRM's priorities moving forward were highlighted, emphasizing transparency, closer industry collaboration, and expanding awareness of neighboring rights among businesses, creators, and the public.

"Our goal is to continue creating greater value for every member we represent while ensuring that the Philippine music industry thrives through fair and effective rights management," Acosta shared.

PRM’s Chairman of the Board, Atty. Ricardo Blancaflor, presided over the meeting, anchoring the session on good governance, accountability, and long-term sustainability within the music industry. This focus on strong institutional leadership was reflected in the high turn-out of attendees, including Enzo Valdez, Managing Director of Universal Music Group Philippines and PRM Board Member; Jo Abrea, Finance Head of Warner Music Philippines; Atty. Carissa Enerio of Sony Music Entertainment Philippines; and performer members Ace Banzuelo and Josh Buizon, who also serves as a PRM Board Member.

Along with many more of the organization’s board members and partners in attendance, representatives from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) likewise joined the meeting in support of PRM and its continuing efforts to promote respect for intellectual property rights and strengthen the country's collective management systems for creators in the creative sector, specifically with regard to the music industry. Their presence highlighted the strong collaboration between PRM and government institutions in advancing fair compensation for music creators.

Beyond presenting the organization's accomplishments, the AGM also provided members with an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and exchange insights on the evolving landscape of the music industry. The open forum reflected PRM's commitment to transparency, accountability, and active member participation in shaping the organization's future.

As PRM continues to expand its initiatives and deepen partnerships with industry leaders and public institutions, the organization remains steadfast in its mission of protecting neighboring rights, improving royalty distribution, and creating a more sustainable future for those in the music industry in the country and all over the world.
