In a genre usually associated with rugged, macho, tattooed men, Gloryen, a 26-year-old Indie Rock Artist from Candelaria, Quezon, provides listeners with a unique voice, look, and perspective. Growing up with musically inclined parents, she was exposed to various genres from a very young age and discovered her love for performing arts in high school, specifically theater, before becoming a theater performer herself and studying Performing Arts at Assumption College. During her college days, she first caught the Rock music bug after performing at a Battle of the Bands event, which made her realize that she could do well in the genre too. Post-graduation, she got a 9-5 job but eventually returned to singing, which led to her meeting her mentor of Eraserheads and Sandwich fame, Raymund Marasigan. After being taken under his wing, Gloryen gained notoriety for her singles “Bago Ka Lumisan”, “Pagod Na”, and “Walang Kapalit”, which were all released this year, 2024, and she hopes to continue her momentum with her self-titled EP and music video for “Walang Kapalit”, which means "irreplacable" in English. The song is about the feeling of having someone no one else can replace or come close to.

However, before Gloryen’s set and the music video launch, her special guest artists warmed up the stage and set the right vibe for tonight. First up was the band bird., who rocked the crowd with a lively set and had everyone buzzing. After them was JUICEBOX (JCBX), who provided a funky and upbeat set that featured a special appearance from Gloryen for their song “Padayon”. Gloryen’s mentor, Raymund Marasigan, then took the stage as part of Party Pace, who masterfully provided a versatile set of all-instrumental songs with vocal samples sprinkled here and there, resulting in unique soundscapes and feels.

After the 3 bands, it was time for Gloryen’s set, which consisted of all 6 songs from her self-titled EP, performed in order of its track listing, and 3 unreleased songs that may be released in the not-so-distant future. She started off with the anthemic “Ayaw Pang Matapos Ang Gabi”, which helped her express how she felt about the evening so far. Before she could get to her second song, in line with the event also being a birthday celebration, friends and family of hers gifted her with a birthday cake which she blew out, and a bouquet of flowers. She then transitioned to performing her first single, “Bago Ka Lumisan”, during which her friends and fellow PolyEast Records artists put up and waved around cutouts of her face to her delight and amazement.

Before her third song, she received another cake, this time from her family, which she blew out as well. She then performed the emotionally powerful and vulnerable “Ilang Saglit”, a beautiful song dedicated to her late father which tackles the topic of wanting again to be with a loved one who’s passed away, even if just for a short while. This was followed by “Pagod Na”, an inspiring song about being tired but choosing to not give up and taking a rest before continuing again. She then performed the lone English track from her EP, “To Feel Your Love”, which is about being in love and opening one’s heart to someone, which was followed by the last song on her EP, “Walang Kapalit”. Her last 3 songs of the night were all unreleased love songs that people should look out for, ranging from the relatable to the, in her own words, “delulu”. Once her set was finished, she then had the music video launch of “Walang Kapalit”, starring fellow PolyEast Records Artist, Ron Macapagal, alongside her. After the music video viewing, Gloryen gave one final thank you to everyone who attended the event before DJ Jiggawho sent the crowd home happy with an energetic DJ set, serving as the perfect ending to a rockin’ night full of happiness, good vibes, and milestones.
