Just this week, Philippines Recorded Music Rights Inc. (PRM) has formally finalized its promotional partnership with Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-Aawit (OPM) for Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino (LMP) 2025. Alongside this, OPM has requested PRM to be part of their LMP25: Music Talk Series, which will cater to both veteran and budding singers in the industry.

OPM is the country’s leading organization of professional Filipino singers and has worked with multiple organizations, such as the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), to present LMP since 2014. Under the leadership of Gab Cabangon, OPM’s Executive Director, LMP 2025 will be a month-long celebration, instead of its customary observance on the last week of July, as per Proclamation No. 933 of the late former President Benigno Aquino III.

For this year, OPM has gone all out in promoting its members’ music to the public. With a month-long celebration providing ample time to introduce rising artists to Filipinos’ radars, the organization has set up a series of live music shows across the Metro called OPM Spotlights. In Quezon City, Kubo Bar PH, located on Kalayaan Avenue, and JT’s Manukan in Katipunan remain the top hubs hosting the shows. Both UNWND and Burnt Edges, on the other hand, have and will house talented performers in Makati. In Marikina, Beach House Bar & Grill is slated to accommodate artists for one night after OPM’s Music Talk Series. See the full schedule below.

Part of OPM’s mission is to equip singers with the right skills to improve and profit from their craft — this includes creating a space wherein stakeholders can share knowledge on thriving in the industry. On July 26 (Saturday) at Greenhills Cinema, OPM, together with the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, Inc. (FILSCAP), will present LMP25: Music Talk Series. The talk will include topics of songwriting, music arrangement & recording, music production, and music licensing and distribution. Francis Buen, PRM’s Acting General Manager and Head of Licensing, will represent PRM as a panelist in the music and licensing distribution portion. He will be joined by Mony Romana of Believe PH, Mich Maskariño of FILSCAP, and Atty. Marivic Benedicto of ABS-CBN Film Productions.

While July cadences to its end, the relentless pursuit of Filipino music appreciation will not conclude. OPM has worked tirelessly to showcase our music to the world, and LMP is only one of its extensive undertakings to do so.

What a great time to support Filipino artists! You may visit OPM’s Facebook page for more information on LMP 2025.
