City-Popping Off a New Era: Ace Banzuelo Celebrates the Launch of His Latest Single, "Girl, You're On My Mind"

Ace Banzuelo celebrated the release of his latest single, “Girl, You’re On My Mind” under our member, Sony Music. Happening last December 12, 2024 at Gighouse Muntinlupa, PRM was able witness the next step in his music journey. Signifying the start of his city-pop era, he was supported by the best city-pop artists in the metro.

Opening the show was Paprika, a Japanese city-pop cover artist who performed her rendition of classics such as Miki Matsuraba’s “Stay With Me” and “Flyday Chinatown” by Yasuha. Sustaining the lively vibe was the Laguna-based band, 12th Street, who wowed the crowd with performances of their original compositions like “Walang Humpay” and their newest single, “Alitan”. One of the hottest up-and-comers in the OPM scene, Kenaniah, then took the stage to rock the crowd with his hit songs like “Bahala Na.” Then providing a contrast in pace was SHANNi, who slowed things down and gave chill vibes by serenading the crowd with her self-written songs like “19” and “Kdrama” to name a few. Last to take the stage before the man of the night were the men clad in red suits, ALYSON. They blew the crowd away with a robust unit full-band set that completely encapsulated the city-pop theme of the night, performing their songs, “Kiliti”, “Summer Nights”, and “Underpass”.

Finally, the spotlight was given to Ace Banzuelo, as he proudly announced that he will be performing his newer releases. True to his word, he started with one of his singles released earlier in the year, “Minsan”. The crowd then felt that love is in the air as Ace performed back-to-back love songs, with his 2024 track “Bighani” and one if his older songs, “Himala”.  He then sang his upbeat and catchy new single, “Girl, You’re On My Mind”, which he then followed with his final song of the evening and biggest hit to date, “Muli”, much eto the delight of the crowd.

Overall, the entire night was a celebration of city-pop’s influence on OPM, Ace Banzuelo’s newest single, and his willingness to explore new styles for his growth as an artist.
