1. PRM (Philippine Recorded Music Rights Inc.), a collective management organization accredited by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), is thrilled to announce its first-ever Distribution Party. The event is set to take place on July 19, 2024. It marks a significant milestone in the protection and promotion of public performance rights for record labels and recording artists in the Philippines.

2. PRM plays a crucial role in licensing music, including from some of the most prominent names in the music industry, to commercial establishments.  This enables businesses to enhance and curate the customer experience, while the distribution of royalties to artists and record labels ensures that they are rightfully compensated for their work.

3. This first distribution exercise is a milestone for PRM. The royalty to be paid out is for the period from January 2021 to December 2022.

4. The local office of the international labels, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group will receive 78% of the producers’ share of royalties. Local labels such as PolyEast Records, Star Music, Universal Records, Viva Records and others will receive 14%. The remaining balance of 8% is currently under hold and subject to confirmation by other local and international labels.

5. In total, there are 105 performer recipients who will receive royalties during this first distribution. Among them, there are 30 local Filipino performers, with the remaining 75 performers based overseas.

From the overall performer royalties distribution, PRM is pleased to share that 30% of the performers’ share of royalties will be distributed to local Filipino performers and 70% of the performers’ share of royalties will be distributed to international performers.
